Our Story
Located in the beautiful, tranquil village of Lucker, Northumberland. Also a running restaurant, The Apple Core is the ideal venue to provide the setting for your romantic, intimate wedding day.
The Apple Core building/surroundings can be hired on an exclusive use basis and can accommodate up to 60 people for your daytime celebration, with capacity for up to 90 people in the evening. The building itself (which was once an old nursery/school!) is beautiful inside and out, but with the option to add your own touches and bring to life the bespoke vision you have of your wedding day.
Your special day will be enhanced by the Stablewood team who will be committed to ensuring a memorable day, and be there to help take any stress out of your planning with our dedicated wedding coordinator. We pride ourselves on being a one-stop, "retreat" type of venue. This meaning that once you arrive, everything you need for the perfect wedding day/weekend is within a short walking distance.
Stablewood are uniquely placed to offer you a complete package to include the options of: A choice of an exciting wedding day breakfast menu with dishes to suit all tastes and dietary requirements prepared by our own chefs. Hair and beauty packages in conjunction with the multi awarding winning, 5 Bubble rated Beau Monde Salon/Spa team who specialise in wedding hair and makeup located in Lucker village, just around the corner from The Apple Core. Pre special day events for either or both of the bridal or groom party at our multi award winning Gastro pub, voted Tourism North-East Pub of the Year 2020, The Apple Inn, located immediately opposite The Apple Core. Full accommodation packages for yourself and your special guests in our luxury collection of cottages located in and around Lucker village.
